I know there are a couple of counties by that name in some US states. Sitting in Himachal, you can well imagine I am not referring to them. This is more a literal name for an area in the Dhauladhars. On the 45 day trek which had to end in 30 days, the first pass we crossed was the Gaj Pass. Part of the Dhauladhar range, it is a gateway to 5 high altitude lakes. Not really big ones but big enough to look green or frozen and either way beautiful. The largest is called Lam Dal. Another is named Kali Kund and I dont know the names of others. That notwithstanding, the pleasure of having a look at them from a high pass, camping next to them, going around them or having a bath in ice melt is a once in a lifetime feeling. Once in a lifetime also because it is below 0 even in May nights and because you cant really take a dip more than once in water which is more ice than water.
If looking at these alights a fire of desire in your belly, here are the trek facts and map.

You went to such kind of places? Wow!!
More details would certainly help. I am planning a trip to McLeod Ganj and looking for a trekking trail which I could complete in 3 days. Could you suggest me a route (may be Lam Dal) and tell me some more details of the place and your personal experience as in kind of travelogue.
Thank you for sharing the pics and information
