This one is easy. Lamu is remote, a small village around 70 km and 3-4 hours from Chamba. There are a couple of buses connecting Lamu to Chamba. The first one leaves early in the morning at 6. To reach Chamba:
1. By Road: From Pathankot, Chamba is accessible by State Highway 35 (SH35). It is around a 4-5 hour drive.
2. By Rail: Closest rail head is Pathankot, frequently served by trains from Delhi.
3. By Air: The closest airports are Amritsar and Gaggal airport at Kangra. From Amritsar, Pathankot is a 2 hour drive. From Gaggal, Chamba is 6 hour drive along NH20 and then SH35.
The road from Lamu to Lake wali Mata is interesting. Its narrow, winding, barely one lane and runs a few hundred metres above the Ravi gorge. If you are faint hearted, dont sit towards the Ravi side.
