Trek Route
The trek starts from Trela, just off the Teesa Kilar Road. On the road, Trela is marked by a couple of very small shops at a U turn. Cross the bridge and reach Trela, where supplies can be bought from a village shop. The trail starts on the right bank of a stream. - Trela - Bhanodi: Walk along the right bank of the stream on a clear village path. Just after you reach Aniunda, the stream breaks into 2. The larger one comes from your right. Walk a little longer and the trail crosses the smaller one to Alwas village. From Alwas, the trail gets into a jungle, climbs a little and reaches the camp ground of Bhanodi, with a police post. Carry your ID cards and have them checked at this post.
- Bhanodi - Satrundi: The same trail continues NE along the right bank of the stream (quite far away from the stream though). It climbs steeply after Dudhyali Dhar. As you get closer to Satrundi, the trail turns sharp NW to cross a stream and then climbs sharply back NE. This climb is quite strenuous and touches the Kilar Road very close to Satrundi. Satrundi is a very small cam ground, a seasonal tea shop, a seasonal police post and a shelter.
- Satrundi - Sach Pass: Sach Pass can be seen clearly from Satrundi and the trail is first along the right bank of the stream for 3/4ths of a km and then crosses over to the other side. On the left bank, it climbs steeply up a ridge, turns sharply NW and continues straight to the pass. The last turn of the road to the pass is visible all the time and can be used for navigation.
- Sach Pass - Bhagotu: If you take the road, all you need is eyes to see and legs to walk. The aim is to walk on the left side of the stream that you can see far away and reach an open campground. If you take the old trail, slide down the pass, cross over to the right bank or still slide down further on the ice above the stream.
- Bhagotu - Kilar: Road all along the left bank of the stream. Trail all along the right bank of the stream till you hit the Chandrabhaga river. After crossing the Chandrabhaga, road SW steeply climbing to Kilar.
